Upon arrival, the Vietnam Adventure Cycling Crew will meet you at Rembrandt Sukhumvit Hotel (22 Sukhumvit 20 Alley, Bangkok), where our group booking begins at 2 PM. We’ll take some time for bike fitting 🚴‍♂️🔧 to ensure your ride is perfectly set up for the journey ahead, then you can relax and settle into your room.
In the evening, we’ll regroup for a short walk to AMOK, one of Bangkok’s finest Thai restaurants, where a welcome dinner 🍽️🥂 awaits. During dinner, our guide will share important information and tips to prepare you for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: BANGKOK - SAMUT SONGGRAM

Rural Ride & Riverside Retreat in Samut Songkhram 🚴‍♂️🌾
In the morning, the Vietnam Adventure Cycling team will pick you up at the hotel for a short transfer out of the city to escape the busy traffic. We’ll head south to the peaceful outskirts, where our cycling adventure truly begins.
Today’s ride is gentle and easy, taking us through charming rural villages, alongside quiet canals, and past lush rice fields. We’ll pause for a local lunch before continuing our ride to a beautiful riverside hotel, perfect for unwinding after the day’s journey.

Day 3: SAMUT SONGRAM - HUA HIN

Start your day early with a visit to Amphawa Floating Market, one of Thailand’s most iconic local spots. Boats bustle through the canals selling all kinds of goods, while vendors call out about their fresh mangoes, and you might even spot locals bathing in the waterways. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, we set off on our bikes along quiet rural roads, passing through charming villages. Our route takes us to Phra Nakhon Khiri, or ‘Holy City Hill,’ where you can admire panoramic views before cycling on to Haad Chao Samran beach for lunch.

Day 4: HUA HIN - PRACHUAP KHIRIKHANH

We begin our day from the hotel, setting off along quiet country roads that run parallel to the railway and follow the serene coastline of southern Thailand. The route takes us past peaceful fishing villages where life moves at a gentle pace, offering a glimpse into the local way of life. Around midday, we pause for lunch at a local restaurant, savoring fresh regional flavors and recharging for the afternoon’s journey. Day 6: CHUMPHON - KHAO SOK NATIONAL PARK

Surat Thani Transfer & Limestone Karsts Cycling Adventure 🚴‍♂️🏞️
After a 3-hour transfer to Surat Thani, we enjoy a delicious local lunch before the day’s real highlight unfolds. Towering limestone karsts, formed over 260 million years ago from an ancient underwater reef that once stretched to Vietnam, dominate the landscape. These majestic formations, rising between 400 meters and nearly a kilometer, will accompany us for the next few days.
We set off cycling westward through lush greenery toward the spectacular Ratchaprapha Dam. Often called the freshwater counterpart to Phang Nga’s famous limestone peaks, this reservoir features hundreds of small pale-rock islands jutting from emerald waters—a breathtaking sight.
Completing around 40 km of cycling, we then transfer a short distance to our stunning mountain-top resort, where you can relax and soak in the views.

This morning, we wake up surrounded by the ancient rainforest, the oldest evergreen forest in the world. Today is all about immersing yourself in nature with no cycling on the agenda.
You have the freedom to explore at your own pace—wander through deep valleys, discover hidden caves, or relax by the serene Cheow Larn Lake. Keep an eye out for the park’s incredible wildlife, including elephants, exotic hornbills, and playful langur monkeys. If you like, cool off with a refreshing dip in the rivers or waterfalls scattered throughout this lush paradise.

From here, the road leads us downhill toward the coastline. The final leg of our journey is a scenic cruise along the Andaman Sea, with glimpses of turquoise water, fishing boats, and untouched beaches lining our path.

We cycle eastward across rolling hills, passing through quiet forests, fruit orchards, and vast rubber plantations. The road offers a peaceful rhythm, and the changing scenery reveals the region’s rural charm at every turn.
Our destination is Phang Nga, a laid-back town known for its welcoming atmosphere, rich cultural blend, and outstanding local cuisine. Here, Buddhist temples, mosques, and Chinese shrines coexist side by side—a testament to the area’s deep-rooted diversity.
After a relaxing local lunch, we board a boat for an unforgettable journey through the legendary Phang Nga Bay. Towering limestone karsts rise dramatically from emerald-green waters, creating one of Thailand’s most iconic landscapes.
We stop at the famous James Bond Island, made legendary by the film The Man with the Golden Gun, and continue to Koh Panyee—a remarkable floating Muslim fishing village built entirely on stilts. Our destination today is Ao Nang—a vibrant seaside town that marks a striking contrast to the calm, rural paths we’ve grown accustomed to. As we roll into town, the energy picks up. The sidewalks glow with shop lights, and the air buzzes with the aromas of sizzling street food and beachfront eateries. It’s the perfect place to indulge after a long journey.
While Ao Nang’s own beach offers great views, the real treasures lie just offshore. With the nearby shores of Railay, Tonsai, Ko Hong, Ko Gai, and Ko Poda, you’re surrounded by some of Thailand’s most iconic island landscapes. After the ride, a cold beer or cocktail by the beach is the perfect way to toast to your incredible journey.

If island hopping calls your name, boats to Ko Phi Phi and Phuket are easily accessible from the pier. Prefer to stay active? Ao Nang is also a world-famous rock climbing destination. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, scaling a limestone cliff with the jungle behind you and the ocean stretching below is a truly unforgettable experience.
Of course, no one would blame you for simply lounging on the sand, sipping a chilled coconut or cocktail, and watching the longtail boats drift by.

We continue south toward Trang, a charming provincial town known for its flavorful cuisine, vibrant street art, and strong Chinese heritage. After a local lunch on the outskirts, we arrive at a nearby hotel to freshen up and change clothes.
By late afternoon, we head to the train station and board our overnight train at 5:30 PM. Settle into your soft sleeping berth and enjoy the rhythmic journey north—a peaceful transition after days of cycling through Thailand’s southern beauty.

Good morning! Your adventure begins as our guide from Vietnam Adventure Cycling greets you at your hotel. After a two-hour transfer out of the city bustle, we arrive at our starting point where your bikes are ready and waiting.
From here, we ride along peaceful, paved country roads, passing through quiet Thai villages surrounded by rice paddies, fruit orchards, and traditional Theravada Buddhist pagodas. Locals greet us with warm smiles, adding charm to an already stunning landscape.
We follow the riverbank, stopping for water breaks as the iconic Death Railway gradually comes into view. Built during World War II by Allied prisoners of war and Asian laborers under brutal conditions, this historic route was a strategic ambition of the Japanese military—its tragic past still resonates today.
Later, we pay a visit to the Elephant World complex, a sanctuary for rescued elephants. Whether it’s your first time seeing these majestic animals or not, the experience is always moving.

We cross a small bridge to the other side of the river and begin following the gentle curves of the Sakae Krang River, eventually joining the mighty Chao Phraya. This section is one of the most rewarding ways to experience the real Thailand, as we cycle along quiet country roads that meander through rural villages, farmlands, and riverside communities.
Locals go about their daily routines—tending fields, fishing, or relaxing under shady trees—offering us glimpses into an authentic and unhurried lifestyle. The ride is flat and easy, allowing us to fully take in the beauty of the surroundings.
We stop for a riverside lunch in Nakhon Sawan, where the Ping and Nan rivers converge to form the great Chao Phraya River. The view from the restaurant terrace is both scenic and symbolic—this is a historic waterway that has shaped much of Thailand’s culture and economy.
After completing about 80 km on the bike, we hop in the van for a smooth transfer along Highway 1 to Kamphaeng Phet. Our evening is spent at a relaxing riverside hotel overlooking the Ping River—a peaceful way to end the day.

We begin with a gentle ride straight to Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, part of the larger UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns. Set among towering trees and peaceful grounds, the park features centuries-old temples, crumbling city walls, and headless Buddhas that echo with history. We take about an hour to explore the site by bike, soaking in the quiet majesty of this former stronghold of the Sukhothai Kingdom.
From here, we continue cycling along tranquil countryside roads that skirt the edge of Ramkhamhaeng National Park, where dense forests and distant hills provide a scenic backdrop. After a local lunch stop, our journey continues northward toward Sukhothai, the first capital of the Thai empire, founded in 1238 AD.

At noon, we leave the hotel for a short transfer to Chiang Rai, where we visit two of the city’s iconic landmarks—the striking White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) and the serene Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten). Day 22: CHIANG RAI - GOLDEN TRIANGLE

Cycling to Chiang Saen – Through Lush Plantations & Historic Temples 🚴‍♂️🌾🏯
After breakfast at the hotel, we set off on a scenic ride featuring gentle undulating terrain with some flat stretches. Our route takes us past expansive rubber plantations and vibrant rice paddies, where water buffalo work the fields and farmers sow seeds by hand—a true glimpse into rural Thai life.
We conclude our cycling day at the ancient temples of Chiang Saen, located just south of the legendary Golden Triangle. From here, we transfer by van to a lodge nestled in the heart of a H’Mong village, offering spectacular views over a pristine valley.
Take your time to relax or explore the village, immersing yourself in the authentic daily rhythms of the local community.

Starting from the hotel, we’ll pedal south along smooth country roads that soon lead us onto smaller concrete lanes winding through quaint villages. This route offers a wonderful chance to experience authentic rural life in northern Thailand up close.
We’ll pause for a local lunch before continuing to our beautiful hotel in Chiang Khong, where you can unwind after a fulfilling day’s ride.

Day 24: CHIENG KHON - CHIANG KHAM

Challenging Ride to Chiang Kham – Mountain Views & Riverside Bliss 🚴‍♂️⛰️
Today is a tough but rewarding day, so make sure to enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off. We cycle along the border, catching glimpses of Laos from the Thailand side. The route features rolling terrain with mostly uphill sections as we climb to an altitude of 1,400 meters.
Your hard work will be rewarded with a scenic picnic lunch atop the mountain, offering spectacular panoramic views. The afternoon brings a thrilling downhill and a gentler ride through peaceful countryside.
We end the day at a beautiful resort nestled among rice paddies, where water buffalo roam and farmers tend to their fields. Dinner and overnight stay await you in Chiang Kham.

As you pedal along, take in the pristine landscapes that stretch alongside the quiet country roads — perfect for whistling and soaking up nature’s calm. We pause for a delicious local lunch before continuing our ride until reaching a total of 80 km.
At the end of the day, we board a van for a transfer to Phrae, where we settle in for a restful overnight stay.
